The above link will be active from one week before the class begins.
Note: When you are entering the online classroom, please use the same name that you registered for the class. If you haven’t registered, please register for this class at the venue before joining this class.
How do I Get Ready for Class?
If you are joining this class for the first time, do the following simple procedure several days before the class start date with your computer or smart phone that you are going to use for the class.
- Click on the above link for entering online classroom.
- Type your name and press ‘Ask to Join the Meeting’ button.
If you can see ‘You’ll be able to join the meeting when someone let you in” message, you are ready for the class.
If you have a question how to use your computer or phone, please contact your products vendor. If you have a question about the class or this website, contact the teacher.
What hardware do I need?
A computer or a smart phone with the Internet.
If you are using a desktop computer to join the class, you also need a microphone (or headset). A webcam not required.
Alternatively you can join the class using a landline telephone with some limitations.
What software or apps do I need?
If you are using a computer to join the class, you need Chrome or Firefox web browser. Most likely your computer already has the software. However if the software is missing in your computer, your computer will advise you to download the required software or join the class by calling a phone number when you’re about to enter the online classroom.
If you’re using a smart phone to join the class, you need Google Hangout Meet, which is a free app by Google. If the app is missing in your phone, your phone will automatically install the app for you with your permission when you’re about to enter the online classroom for the first time.
How do I join the class using a landline phone?
Just call the dial-in phone number and then enter the pin number.
Contact the teacher if you need the dial-in number and pin. The dial-in phone number and the pin number will also be shown in the screen when you try to enter the classroom but your computer or smart phone does not have necessary software or app.
The dial-in phone number is provided as a backup in case you do not have access to your computer/smart phone or the Internet. You should join the class using your computer or smart phone whenever you can.
There are some limitations when you join the class with a landline phone. You are limited to audio. The dial-in phone number is a US number. Calls may be subject to long distance charges – check with your phone company.
What to expect from an online class?
The online class is similar to an in-person class. But we meet and talk on the computer or phone instead of in-person. Class materials (text or images) may be shown on the screen. It is a live online class.
It is an effective and convenient way of learning mindfulness. We save our time in commuting and save some greenhouse gasses as well.
How do I get the most from an online class?
A stable internet connection and a quiet room are helpful.
